The room was calm, clean, comfortable, had a mosquito net, and the shower was wonderful. The sea view we expected wasn’t really there, even though it was advertised. Still, the jungle‑by‑the‑sea setting was magnificent.

The Bonhomie Resort and the whole island of Koh Pu/Koh Jum are truly special. We had the most relaxed days of our trip there. The bungalows are kept very simple but are wonderfully situated right in the jungle. Depending on which bungalow you get, it’s only a few steps to the sea. Each room has a bed with a mosquito net, some storage space, and a fan. The terrace invites you to linger there in the evenings. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The food tastes good and the prices are totally reasonable. You can easily rent a scooter, and there are also bicycles, snorkeling gear, board games, books, and on‑site massages available. In the bay itself there are a few other resorts with bars where you can drop by every day. A short walk away is the beautiful Coconut Beach, where you can still swim in the afternoon when the tide is low, and the sunset is great to watch. The only downside is that at low tide you can’t really swim well in the bay, so you have to go to Coconut Beach or take a scooter to another beach. Shops and other amenities are only reachable if you rent a scooter.

The staff were extremely friendly, you instantly feel a good connection with them, and they’re happy to help if you have questions. The huts on stilts at the edge of the forest were a unique experience; if you want to stay among the monkeys, this is your chance. There are few tourists on the island, so if you want to enjoy peace, this is an excellent place. We reached Coconut Beach via a small path, a beautiful beach in a bay surrounded by palm trees and forested mountains, and there were almost no people, simply gorgeous! Time literally stands still. 👌
