I tried to check in by opening the door myself, but the owner was unhappy with me doing that; he was already inside and made a big gesture pointing at the locked door, indicating he didn’t want us to open it. When I thought I was going to leave because I might have taken the wrong homestay, the owner came over, opened the door, and said I should knock before barging in. Each homestay owner has a different personality and operating style, and they should explain to guests beforehand. I wanted to stay but was told not to “bust in.” I’m a family with a child, so I didn’t feel like I was stealing anything. As the owner, you’re advertising a family-friendly homestay, so you should expect families. The price for one night was 2980, the slide was huge but the room was small, and overall it felt crowded without the comfort of an in‑room slide.
