Breakfast was okay but a bit smaller than my last stay; the lady was very friendly and asked me how it was, so it was fine after the first day—omelette, tomatoes with soft cheese, fresh bread and yoghurt, all served on a small balcony overlooking the Nile not too far away. There was no reception when I arrived, so after a long journey I climbed many stairs, and when the lady looked through the grill on her door and greeted me she called her young son, poor boy, to carry my heavy work case (painter) all the way up. The carpets in my single narrow room needed changing, but after that it was clean and I had the balcony all to myself for a few days, which was great. The owner is charming and just wants to please.
