Being just steps from the lake and having a clean, spacious bedroom were definite highlights. Unfortunately the hotel didn’t provide basic items like forks, plates or glasses, and the kettle was left in the hallway where other guests kept taking it.

The place is beautiful and the water is pleasant, and the bar staff were friendly. Parking a motorbike on the steep hill was awkward without a key or card, and the summer opening hours were disappointing – dinner wrapped up around seven, the bar closed by eight, and the latest anything stayed open was nine.

Warm, clean water and a pleasant atmosphere made the stay comfortable. The room was modest but had everything I needed for a short break.
