The Cove

“Had a great stay.”

We had a great time at The Cove: it’s walkable, close to the beach, shops and restaurants, and parking is on site. The hotel feels old‑fashioned, cozy, and homey. Our room was spotless, the bathroom had a new look and an excellent shower, and the staff were very accommodating – Michael at the front desk was especially nice.

The place feels authentic and the location is great, but there is no elevator.

The location works well, there’s plenty of parking, and the outdoor areas are pleasant. However, the person running the front desk was unprofessional, constantly bashing the previous owner and showing us other reservations. He couldn’t locate my booking even though I showed him my paid confirmation from Booking, and he claimed I was lucky to get an open room. The bed linens and towels had a musty smell.

Everything was very clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The downside is that there’s no elevator and the steps are steep.

“Not what I expected”

Not much. Well I paid $550 for ONE night for my 9yr old daughter & I. The parking is chaotic!! Next to the hotel is a very small parking lot. You would never know or assume the small lot is being shared with another hotel and no staff tells you that. So when we came back from the beach im told that my car is about to get towed even though when I checked in I told the girl at desk that I was in spot #1 (NO WHERE on the sign does it say what hotel all it says is spot 1) Then were given r room key & it’s directly behind the front desk & a restroom!! The room was the size of a small shed! The bathroom was nice but the ac barely worked & everytime the front door opened & close the entire room shook!!! The pool is very very small!!! There was some kind of film stuck to the lining of pool. Def doesn’t look like any of the pics! ***correction. It's definitely NOT one block or 1500 feet or “a stone throw a way” from the beach!! If you want to get technical. PROXIMITY: Roughly TWO BLOCKS away from the beach and boardwalk area WALKING TIME: 5 MINUTES (you can find the info on google). Lastly, I saw on the website that they charge $20 for each beach tag as a deposit and when they are returned they will give you the $20 back. When I asked the girl at the desk she first told me that they dont have beach tags to give out. I told her what I saw online then miraculously beach tags appeared. I gave the girl at desk $40 for 2. The next day at check out it was a gentleman at the desk I handed over the beach tags waiting for my $40. He looked at me like I was crazy. He said "we dont charge for beach tags" he reluctantly gave me $40 out of his wallet which I appreciated cause I did not want to wait around for him to figure out why I was charged $40. So again. I paid $550 for ONE NIGHT
