The breakfast was exceptionally good, and there were friendly dog and cat guests. No complaints.

“Tim did a good job in running the B & B and also working as a masseur”

The breakfast spread was generous, and we were familiar with Birchington, so we appreciated the local vibe. We especially enjoyed the historic house layout—originally the coach, staff, butler, porter, and cook had their rooms upstairs, while the neighboring bungalow was where the aristocratic family stayed during holidays, with staff on hand. The horse would guide the bathing hut down to the sea. We also liked Louis the dog, the cat, and Tim. Walking was difficult for me, and the stairs proved challenging.

“Home from home, loved it.”

This place feels like a true ‘home away from home.’ Tim, the owner, is friendly, warm, and welcoming, and it was a pleasure to meet Louie the dog and Midnight the cat. The bed was very comfortable, the room clean, and there was a kettle, tea, and coffee. A sink is in the room, and although the bathroom is shared with Tim, he’s flexible about timing. Breakfast was tasty, with bread/toast, jams, Marmite, various cereals and granola, cold meats, and fresh fruit. Even though it’s set out in Tim’s kitchen, he respects guests’ privacy. I’d definitely stay again. Nothing to complain about—excellent value for money.
