“Disappointed by Marriott”
The place sits in a decent spot, but the building feels old and reeks. The staff try hard, yet their training seems lacking and the staff shortage is obvious; I wouldn't return.
“Great weekend away for Bournemouth, but hotel needs Restaurant/Venue Amenity improvements.”
The hotel was within walking distance of the town centre, beaches, pier and other amenities, and the top‑floor room gave lovely views over Bournemouth beach and the sea; the air‑conditioning helped me sleep well and the main staff were friendly. However, for a high‑spec hotel the self‑serve breakfast buffet was disappointing, with no information on vegetarian or sausage options and limited food and seating during peak times on Saturdays and Sundays; the overall quality felt below what Marriott branding would suggest, and staff seemed rushed at times. The Barn Brasserie restaurant and bar were a mixed experience, with some friendly service and some not; the parking was acceptable if a spot could be found, but the hotel’s size made it feel limited.

The location near Bournemouth was very convenient, but that was the only positive; the building felt old and faded, the price was too high for the value, and my £599 bill for two nights covered a box‑shaped room with no view except a wall opposite. It was listed as an “executive suite” but was just a standard room, and the staff showed little interest in my complaint; the hotel being full does not justify the cost.

The location was convenient and easy to find, and the air‑conditioning and bathroom were good, but the bed was rock solid, the pillows offered no support, and the room was small.
