The front‑desk guy was very friendly and helpful with everything needed, all in a good mood. The hostel sits a few blocks from the city centre, and it’s very quiet.

The owner couple are extremely kind. The facilities are ordinary, but the bed is comfortable and the neighbourhood is safe. You can pay by card for everything, even drinks, and they even make spaghetti that’s really tasty. The air‑conditioning is cool, and when you open the door you’re greeted by a balcony with a cute little view. The lights could have been a bit brighter.

They tried to explain that they had attempted to reach me. Honestly, it was one of the worst hostel experiences I’ve had. I arrived straight from the airport after a very long international flight. I had clearly informed the hostel via the platform about my late arrival and that I would pay in cash. My last message on the platform confirmed my arrival. When I got there, no one opened the door. I rang for about 30 minutes with no response. I don’t speak Spanish, I didn’t yet have internet, and the hostel is in a remote area, so it was very hard to find help. The only person I found nearby was a armed guard who refused to help and was very hostile and racist. I had no choice but to call 911 and wait for the police for almost two hours on the sidewalk. When the police arrived, they told me they would have the hostel door opened. Honestly, I didn’t believe it because I had already been ringing for a long time. Strangely, as soon as the police arrived with flashing lights and rang the door, two people immediately opened it. That means they were inside from the start and deliberately ignored me. I was completely shocked and exhausted. They then accepted my cash payment, then cancelled the booking a few minutes later, which really gives the impression they wanted to avoid me leaving a public comment about this situation. The next morning, before leaving for my ferry, I asked for a receipt to have proof of my stay since the booking had been cancelled. The lady tried to explain that they had tried to contact me, but I had been traveling from London on the 17th and arrived in Honduras on the 18th evening: I was literally in planes and in transit, it was impossible for me to respond.

I really liked the place. They treated me very well and were very friendly. It’s well located; within a radius of 2 or 3 blocks there are several restaurants and bars, and it’s about 10 blocks from the cathedral and the centre.
