The accommodation in Amden was simple but clean. The rooms were a bit basic but not too small and had everything you need. The beds were comfortable. Family rooms with bunk beds were available. We had a shower and toilet in the room; the shower was very pleasant, level with a shower curtain, and in the same space as the toilet. Soap had to be fetched from reception. Inside the room there was also a small sink with a soap dispenser. Parking was available at the hotel itself and many rooms had a view of Walensee. There were several common areas with a table tennis table and foosball. Another area had a TV and many games. In our room there was no TV. Breakfast was quite generous but had no hot dishes; there were various cold meats, cheeses, jams, honey, hazelnut spreads, cereals, fruit, and yogurts. Also juice, milk, water, tea, and coffee. In the dining room there was a fridge with cold drinks that you could use at any time and then pay later. The Schwendihaus is not really cheap but cheaper than other hotels in the area. If you’re mainly looking for a place to stay, you’ll be well taken care of.
