The hotel’s location is great, close to the Igreja Matriz, the Jorge Amado cultural house, and central bars like Vesúvio, Bataclan, and Barrakitika. I could see the Jorge Amado statue and his house from my room. The staff are very friendly and helpful, with reception open all day and night. There’s a large fridge in the room and the room itself is spacious. However, the hotel is very basic and may not suit demanding guests. The bed is simple but reasonably comfortable, with no bedside lighting. The air conditioning is very noisy. The side table is plastic. In the bathroom, the shower was adequate but the toilet didn’t flush properly, and the lighting was poor. The TV had only three or four channels. Cleaning could have been a bit more thorough—there was dust under the bed.
