Hotel Zimmerbräu sits on St. Wolfgang’s village square, a 14th‑century brewery refurbished in 2011. The historic building lies 50 m from Lake Wolfgang and 250 m from a private beach, offering free Wi‑Fi. Rooms feature traditional wooden furnishings, balconies, private bathrooms with hairdryers, toiletries, seating areas, flat‑screen TVs, safety deposit boxes, tea/coffee makers, and mini‑fridges. Parking: €8 outside, €14 garage.

The rooms were very clean and the staff were super friendly, but there were no sofas.

The location and breakfast were great, yet the hotel photos were misleading; they made it look like the hotel faced the lake with a stunning view, but that’s not the case. There is a small private spot a 5‑6 minute walk from the beach. We asked for extra pillows for medical reasons and were charged for them. The shower was tiny. Getting to the paid parking area was difficult because it required climbing several stairs. We paid for the room six months in advance and the hotel tried to charge us again at check‑out, but they eventually found our payment.

Central spot, staff were friendly, breakfast was solid, and we enjoyed the lakeside garden and paddle‑boards. The only downside was the heat; there’s no air‑conditioning, so it got warm, but they did hand out a fan when we asked.
