The host was really friendly and took care of everything, even letting us check out a bit later, which was a nice touch. The surrounding nature was stunning and the free‑standing parking made it easy to park our cars, while the kitchen had all the tools we needed to cook. On the downside, the building looks like an old restaurant with dated gear and feels more like a warehouse than a cozy inn, and the bathroom was a nightmare – insects, mold and a strong smell made it hard to stay comfortable.

The chilly weather turned out to be a plus, and the garden full of lovely plants made the place feel like a little oasis. We spent evenings by the fire in a rustic lounge that was tucked away from the main house, which was really cozy. The house itself looked a bit rundown and the nearby neighbors were close enough to hear their chatter, so it wasn’t completely quiet. Overall, a nice spot if you don’t mind a bit of wear and some background noise.

Set about a thousand metres above Bogota, the lodge offers sweeping valley views through panoramic windows and direct access to hiking trails, plus a big professional kitchen and a hot‑water shower that felt great after a trek. Getting there is the only hassle – you have to budget roughly an hour and a half driving from the airport in a rental car. If you don’t mind the drive, the remote setting and amenities make it a solid base for exploring.
