“It was ok!”

I was just a 15‑minute drive from the kids’ cottage, which was great, but the place was only “ok” – clean enough for a night’s sleep, though the towels felt a bit thin; I’d prefer a fluffier one after showering.

“Quaint room, I'll return”

The location was spot‑on, just a 2‑minute drive to restaurants and shops and a 2‑minute walk to a riverside park with a kids’ playground, tennis courts, picnic tables and Muskoka‑style chairs; I even strolled down with leftover dinner one night and it was very relaxing. The building is old and a few repairs are needed, but most upgrades have been completed. The bed was comfortable and all the furniture was new, with matching headboard, side tables and coffee table; the small sitting table was a nice expandable set and the room even had a couch. One side table had USB plugs, which was very handy. A big field behind the motel with well‑maintained tables and chairs adds to the appeal. I walked in feeling underwhelmed, but once I looked around my room turned out to be quaint, and I’ll definitely return.

“Tevreden, maar niet tevreden😞”

The location was good, the city centre was within walking distance; the carpet on the floor was not up to my standards and the bedding was not my first choice.

It was close to a nice restaurant with some outdoor seating at the back, but the room desperately needed updating and renovating; it felt very tired and basic.
