The place smelled really bad.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, the location is very nice, the buildings and interiors have character, and breakfast was good. The room was a little grubby, especially around the internal window areas; the bathroom cupboard needs a total revamp and the drain needs fixing, and cigarette ends were scattered outside the room entrance door.

The rooms were quirky and spotless, and the staff were absolutely lovely and went above and beyond. The only drawback was that there were no dining options beyond breakfast and not much else nearby the hotel.
