Located in Ādaži, Gungas hotel features a private beach area overlooking Dūņezers Lake, nestled within a pine forest. The log-built accommodation offers lake-view rooms with private bathrooms, kitchens, or kitchenettes. Amenities include a bathhouse with attendant services, barbecuing facilities, and a shared lounge. Activities like fishing and volleyball are available on site or nearby, with free parking and proximity to Riga Airport and the Riga-Tallinn motorway.

The lady who welcomed us was very friendly, and the location right on the lake with the Baltic a few kilometres away is amazing—beautiful Baltic cottages, a gorgeous forest, plenty of bike trails and natural attractions within arm’s reach. We’ll probably come back with a larger group; the Latvians are very friendly. The only downside is the weak internet.

A fantastic spot for a getaway, especially for fishing enthusiasts—lots of big and small fish, easy to fish from the pier, a large area, a nearby forest for mushrooms, and everything needed for barbecues; it’s peaceful and serene. Just be aware that in the “Eglites” cabin you won’t be alone; it’s a two‑storey building meant for at least two families.

The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and polite—thanks—and the place is beautiful in a pine forest beside the lake. I would have liked a mosquito net on the windows.

The surroundings are stunning, with daytime calm and quiet, but mosquitoes are a nuisance and the nearby military firing range is too close.
