“Dirty bedsheets and mouldy walls. Mosquitoes in rooms without windows (how?)”
I had no positives to mention. The photos were misleading. I first got a room with dirty bed sheets; after complaining I was moved to another room that also had dirty sheets—someone had stepped on them with shoes, leaving marks. Then I was given a third room, and after inspecting it for more than 2 minutes I found black mould on the walls, a dirty wardrobe with a yellow‑stained pillow inside, mysterious white stains on a chair, rusted and oxidised bathroom fixtures, peeling wallpaper, and of course more dirty bed sheets. There were about 10 mosquitoes flying around me in a windowless room. Naturally I asked for a refund because the last room was “just cleaned” and “inspected” by the receptionist. They promised a refund if I left, but they didn’t. I didn’t trust them, so I contacted the hotel and also sent a cancellation request through the app—again see below. They were unwilling to help. I used the live chat and they said they had sent an email to the hotel to cancel free of charge. The hotelier and receptionist denied receiving such an email and refused to check their notifications and emails when I insisted. I then sent them a personal “free cancellation request,” and they again claimed I hadn’t done it and that I needed to call a number they provided (not support). Then they tried to get me to call that “customer support” number even though I explained multiple times I cannot make calls. The script flipped to saying I was not cooperating and that it was all my fault. We went back and forth, with them refusing to check their emails and notifications, me telling them they had a notification to do a free cancellation, them telling me about the magical number of customer support, etc.
