A rooftop terrace overlooking the sea, a large room that’s nicely decorated, a pool, and clear check‑in instructions. The bed was very uncomfortable; the mattress sits in a concrete frame without a slatted base. The Wi‑Fi was unfortunately not available everywhere (e.g., not on the rooftop). Despite the accommodation’s potential, several improvements are needed to make it worth the money. You can hear all the noise from outside and from other rooms. There are no curtains in the bathroom, so street lighting shines into your room at night. The outdoor light sensors turned on several times at night. The room wasn’t cleaned during our stay, even though we stayed for three nights; a single cleaning would have been appreciated.

“Good”

The room was spotless and housekeeping showed up most days, plus there was Wi‑Fi. The spot was great – a short walk to local cafés and restaurants – and the host answered quickly and helped out. On the downside, the mini fridge was weak, the pool looked a bit murky so we avoided it, the hot tub upstairs was cold, and the outdoor areas seemed a little neglected, but they were still usable for a few days.

“Parfait ! Merci”

The rooftop was sublime with an incredible view, the accommodation was very clean and comfortable, the location was good and parking was easy, and the owner was very responsive. The only issue was the poor sound insulation between rooms; everything could be heard, so if you have noisy neighbors it might be a problem.

The place had a great location on a quiet street, just a short walk to La Gaulette’s main street where a fantastic breakfast café and many great restaurants are. Across from the property is a small green strip where we could park – no problem, we always found a spot and didn’t worry about the car. Contact with Mathieu beforehand and the self‑check‑in at arrival worked perfectly, no issues. The accommodation itself was superb and very nice. The room was spacious, giving plenty of room for luggage. There was a small fridge and a coffee machine; we bought new capsules at a nearby supermarket. The terrace with table, chairs, and lounge chair was also great for evenings. The bathroom was open‑plan, the walls didn’t go all the way up to the ceiling, but there was a sliding door, so you could hear everything that happened in the bathroom. That was fine for us. As other guests have mentioned, the three rooms are separated by a connecting door. We had the middle room and only heard the neighbors occasionally; everyone was respectful and kept noise down, especially at night. I can only recommend this place and we will definitely come back.

“Excellent pied-à-terre dans une très belle région de l’île Maurice”

The triple bedroom was comfortable, the outdoor spaces were well equipped and green, the village of La Gaulette and its surroundings were both calm and lively, and the exchanges with the owner via WhatsApp were warm and responsive. One improvement would be to add an electrical outlet and lighting near the second bed.
