The bed was huge, and the location was perfect if you’re traveling with a dog.
“Great stay shame they little things let it down,we're sorry to say”
When we arrived, there was no meet‑and‑greet. Inside the room, which looked good at first glance, we found dust in several spots that had been there for a while (I took a photo). There was only one hanger. On Sunday morning, when we tried to make coffee, we realized there was no milk left in the room. That evening, the owners sent us a message asking us to make sure we closed the outer door when we left on Monday. I replied on Monday morning to let them know what we had found and to inform them about the mess left by the dog. Nothing else.
The property was nice and we parked in the yard. The owner met us, showed us our room, and explained where we could walk. We arranged a time for breakfast in the morning. The room itself was nice, though the chairs were a bit uncomfortable to sit on. We went to a local pub for dinner, which was a lovely place. We slept well; the pillows were a bit too soft for me. Breakfast in the garden included sliced toast with bacon, scrambled eggs, tomato, yogurt with fruit, granola, and honey from their own hives, plus tea, coffee, and extra toast with jam or marmalade. Their website provides good information on nearby attractions. I think the gardens looked a bit overgrown and didn’t show their full potential; the hedges could have been trimmed. In the hall before entering the room, there were cobwebs and a bit of dust. The drawers on the bedside tables were hard to open. The bathroom was nice, but some of the grout/sealant needed a bit of TLC, and the toilet roll holder was loose.
“Thoroughly recommend this relaxing & peaceful place to stay, ideally located to explore north Norfolk”
Heidi and Hugh were away, but we were greeted warmly and looked after by Heidi’s mum and partner, who made sure everything was easy for us. They served delicious breakfasts with bowls of muesli mixed with Greek yogurt, homemade honey, and the freshest fruit, plus eggs and bacon cooked exactly to our liking. We even tasted some of Liz’s homemade blackberry gin! The grounds were peaceful to walk through, with ducks in the pond and deer in the field. Nearby pubs offered great food.
The breakfast was delicious, served in a beautiful garden. The hosts were very nice.
