The accommodation was clean and quiet with a lovely garden close to the pier for Koh Mak ferries, but the pier for Ko Chang is 15 km away (Ao Thammachat) and ferries no longer run from Laemp Ngop, so in hindsight we’d have chosen a spot nearer that pier. The owner drove us to the pier for 400 BHT – a bit more than a taxi but convenient. The area around the accommodation felt like a ghost village, with only a few shops, a supermarket, a 7‑11, a handful of street‑food stalls and a couple of cafés/eateries. We only booked one night to recover from a 24‑hour journey.
