The building is very spacious with only five rooms. We stayed in room 1, which offers a spectacular sea view. The swimming pool was clean and inviting, and we spent a lot of time sunbathing by it. The guys who run Edwins are super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble; they cooked any meal we wanted and supplied refreshments whenever we asked.

The staff worked hard to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The pool area is lovely, large and clean, with plenty of sunbathing space. The food was very good and reasonably priced. It was almost perfect, but it would be great if they had a sign on the main road with the hotel’s name, because it was hard to find using only Google Maps amid the many narrow streets. A hairdryer for guests would also be useful.

We liked the pool and the surroundings. What we didn’t like was the poor room facilities, the distance to the centre and the beach, and the breakfasts were weaker compared to other accommodations in Sri Lanka.

The hotel sits right on the beach and the room was really spacious. The breakfast selection was limited and mediocre, and if you don’t leave your keys at reception they won’t clean the room because they only have one key copy. The shower feels a bit old.

The place is a large villa‑style house with upstairs rooms that are well furnished, each with its own bathroom, and a shared balcony that overlooks a sparkling pool. It’s located in a quiet beachfront area with rough surf, about a 1‑k/2‑k walk into the main part of Mirissa along a very busy road. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the chef/cook was very accommodating, preparing Sri Lankan breakfast and delicious dinner. Just be careful on the polished marble tiled floors.
