Magma Hotel, situated in Kirkjubæjarklaustur, offers modern Nordic-designed rooms with free WiFi and stunning views of lava fields, the black sand river, and Vatnajökull Glacier. The hotel is 3 km from Kirkjugólf and Systrafoss waterfalls and 72 km from Vik. A 50-minute drive brings guests to Skaftafell and Svartifoss waterfall. Rooms feature flat-screen TVs, private bathrooms, and some have patios with scenic views.

We spent 10 days in Iceland and this was one of our favorite places to stay! The view from our cabin was exceptional and serene, and we absolutely loved it. The cabin itself was clean, modern, and well‑appointed. Breakfast was exceptional and the staff were lovely. We recommend Magma Hotel to all our friends planning a trip to Iceland. On the downside, some of the cabins with the best views don’t have parking right in front; you have to walk a short distance. That’s no big deal, but it’s worth mentioning for those with mobility issues. Most cabins do have parking right in front.
