Hotel Zur Post, a family-run 3-star hotel, is nestled in the serene Westfalian countryside, a 10-minute drive from Balve town centre. The hotel features free Wi-Fi, sauna access, and satellite TV-equipped rooms with work desks and private bathrooms. A buffet breakfast and traditional German cuisine are served in the on-site restaurant, while guests can hike in the nearby Sauerland countryside.

The hotel was quiet, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and parking was free and easy to use; the staff were enthusiastic and I was overall satisfied. I stayed there in 2024 and this was my second visit. I wish the breakfast could be more varied next time.

The location is good, but the building feels old and the floor coverings everywhere have a distinct smell, which also shows up in the room with many stains. The bathroom was messy, and only the bed was decent.
