Hotel las Calas, in Almería's Cabo de Gata Nature Reserve, stands 20 metres from Agua Amarga Beach. Built in typical Andalusian style, it features air-conditioned rooms with satellite TV, private terraces, and minibar. Guests enjoy continental breakfast, free bicycle rentals, and proximity to diving, hiking, and horse riding in the surrounding reserve and fishing village.

The spot was exactly what I needed, but the price felt steep for what the hotel offered.

The room was spacious and spotless, and the four of us slept comfortably together. However, sometimes the bread at breakfast wasn’t fresh, and they should have a jug of milk so guests can pour as much as they want.

The breakfast was pretty good, but we’d have liked fresh vegetables like tomatoes (probably grow nearby) and unsweetened yogurt in addition to the many fruit options. Otherwise the selection was really good and wide. We loved everything! The value for money was excellent.

The hotel is very well located, quiet and cozy, clean and the staff are friendly. This is the second time we stayed here, so we came back. Last year we found only one thing worse: the breakfast had less variety, which matters a lot to those who choose a hotel with breakfast (it’s a part I love). Improvements should be better, not worse 🙏🏻
