Lal was incredibly helpful, letting us check in a bit early and then head out for the day, and also letting us leave our bags on the day of checkout so we could enjoy the beaches one last time. He also kindly arranged a taxi for us on the final day up north. We loved Serenity Villa, with a fantastic restaurant so close (DAB) and a bread shop on the main street. We also enjoyed catching a local bus to Polhena and swimming with turtles.

Great location and unbeatable price for this small two‑bedroom apartment with a living room and shared bathroom and kitchen, where Lal greets you and assists with any request.

Good, large rooms, clean, comfortable furniture. Great location. There’s a kitchen, small but everything is there. The internet worked very poorly. There’s no washing machine; dry cleaning is available but expensive.

The rooms were huge, spotless, and super comfy. The spot was perfect—just a quick stroll to the beach and a couple of solid restaurants. What really set this place apart was the warm, genuine Sri Lankan hospitality from Lal and his family; they made us feel at home right from the start. We’ll definitely return and strongly recommend it to anyone heading to Sri Lanka.

The host was very friendly and the service was great. When you ask for something you get it. There was no reading lamp on the bed.
