Hôtel De L'Octroi is a medieval city gateway hotel, 150 metres from Carcassonne's entrance. Modern rooms offer free WiFi, soundproofing, air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and private bathrooms. The hotel features a bar, outdoor terrace, and seasonal pool. A nearby Gemology SPA offers hammam, hot tub, and massages. The location was great because it was only a 10‑minute walk to the old town. We also liked the small pool where we could relax after sightseeing, and the hotel had parking behind a locked fence. The lack of an elevator and a kettle in the room were annoyances. Breakfast was good but quite pricey at 15 € per person.

The hotel has contemporary décor, is just a stone’s throw from the medieval city, offers a good breakfast, and the staff are very friendly. The pool is small but enough to unwind after a day of sightseeing, and the terrace is nicely arranged.

The location is great, the place is well maintained, and the parking is very convenient. The breakfast options are limited – you can only have a full breakfast or just coffee with nothing else.
