Gargia Lodge, 30 minutes from Alta city centre, nestles between arctic tundra and sea, offering secluded nature immersion. Wooden‑interior rooms feature private bathrooms with showers and complimentary Wi‑Fi. The main house includes a lounge with books, board games, a licensed bar, souvenir shop, restaurant, and fee‑based sauna. In the middle of the wilderness, great location. If you sleep with the window open, it’s not nice when someone smokes right outside (the ashtray was on the table in front of my window) and the smoke drifts into the room. I unfortunately had a chain smoker as a roommate.

Everything was very well furnished, both the rooms and the restaurant area, and the staff were wonderfully attentive; the location is lovely for hiking.

The beautiful natural setting is easy to reach, but the loud barking of dogs—though not overly disruptive—raises the question of whether the huskies in the kennel feel comfortable.
