The room itself was truly stunning, spacious and large, with free drinks and snacks on the floor, a private onsen with a beautiful view, and the hotel offered three onsen facilities for guests to use. The food, however, was not good – when we arrived they asked about our dietary restrictions, we explained, and for dinner the chef apparently ignored us, serving many dishes we didn’t eat; it was frustrating that they asked about our restrictions only to ignore them, and the staff didn’t speak English well, making communication hard.

The place was nice, rooms were comfortable. The food was terrible, the trays were fixed, there was minimal flexibility, and none of our requests were considered.

The location was fine, but it was a bit of a grind up the hill to the property with suitcases; a shuttle bus would have been great. Everything else was great, the rooms were fantastic and the onsen was excellent, but on checkout day we couldn’t get a lift to the station with our cases and had to roll them down a very steep hill; a shuttle bus would be very nice.
