“Fuss-free stay in the hills”
The couple running the place is incredibly charming, and the breakfast offered a choice between Sri Lankan and Western dishes—our mornings were filled with Sri Lankan cuisine that tasted fantastic. We also snagged a delicious Sri Lankan lunch on arrival for a very modest price. The room was roomy and the beds comfortable, complete with mosquito nets. Towels, a kettle, tea/coffee, and a mini fridge were all provided. The view is spectacular, with the train passing by in the distance during daylight. For travelers on a budget, this is a perfect fit. The bathroom was spacious and clean, but there was no ridge to keep the shower water from spilling onto the floor, so you can get a bit wet. Wi‑Fi was available, yet it didn’t work during our stay.

This place has a lot going for it - the bed was super comfy, the room was spacious and clean, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The views from the property were stunning, and we loved being close to Ella Rock. The breakfast was also top-notch, and the staff even helped us sort out transportation into town. My only quibble is that there were a lot of ants in the sink when we arrived, but they seemed to disappear after we cleaned them out.
What a relief to find a peaceful spot outside of Ella! Big thanks to Ovindu, who took great care of us during our stay. He was super helpful and made our stay really enjoyable.
