“Not worth the money”
The price was cheap for a one‑night stay, but you get what you pay for, I guess. Check‑in was at 4:00 pm, and we couldn’t check‑in early unless we paid a $30.00 “Early Check‑in Fee.” This is an old motel with maybe 15 rooms, and there were only about 2 or 3 cars in the parking lot. I highly doubt it was booked; I’m sure there were rooms ready to go or should have been! A Middle Eastern lady was sitting outside between the entry door and the first motel room with an opened door. It looked like sheets and mattresses covered the windows of the room, and I think that was the owner. Once we checked in, we were given a key card, but the door wouldn’t open. I went to the front desk, but nobody was there. I had to wait about 10 minutes for the girl to come downstairs to help me because she was talking to, I assume, the owner. The girl had to knock on another caretaker’s mobile home door to get help. She went to get the master key, and the door opened with it, but she made us a new key card. It worked, and we didn’t have any other door issues. There were no blankets on the bed—just a flat sheet and thin bedspreads! We only discovered this when we went to bed later that night. The bed was very hard and not comfortable at all. No cups to use in the bathroom. Very plain, stripped‑down, basic room. No desk or chair. There was a weird looking piece of furniture pushed up against the window. The second bed was right there…no room to get into the bed on the side with that furniture item. It looked like white paint was just slapped up on the walls, especially the bathroom. No closet to hang anything! Luckily, we just stayed overnight. We just unpacked our overnight bags. I can’t remember if there were any drawers—I would have to say there weren’t any. There was this entertainment‑center‑type piece of furniture, but it was not usable except to throw stuff on top of it (key card, water bottle, etc.). The TV was above it on the wall.
