Located in the heart of Ayala Centre, Makati Shangri-La Manila offers city views from its spacious rooms, each equipped with a 55-inch flat-screen TV, safety deposit box, and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel features an outdoor pool, tennis courts, and a well-equipped Health Club with a fitness centre. Restaurants like Shang Palace and Sage Grill serve Chinese and international cuisine within walking distance to Ayala and Greenbelt Shopping Centres.

The wellness facilities are great, with a lovely pool and spa; the gym is excellent and even hosts group fitness classes, and Toto was outstanding!

All in all, great—could you please offer a better discount?

The room was clean, and there was nothing else to mention.

From check‑in to the cleaners and security, the staff were wonderful, and the Horizon breakfast, included in our package, was very good and convenient on the same floor as our room; the coffee was good, and the area was quieter than the lobby buffet. The pool bar and pool were awesome, though I only found them on day three of our stay. The lounge bar in the lobby was relaxed, well‑priced, and featured live piano and singing each night, with a great drink selection. I also liked the other restaurants, but the lounge bar was fine for me as a smoker, with adequate space. However, the older hotel shows some age, and despite paying to upgrade to the Horizon lounge—which offered a happy‑hour bar with free alcoholic drinks—the bar’s selection of beers and spirits was very limited, so I didn’t really benefit from the extra cost. The room I originally booked was the same, so no advantage there either. The smoker area was beautiful, and the staff worked hard to keep it clean, but I was a bit disappointed to see guests smoking in the garden, which isn’t an official area with proper ashtrays. I had to walk a long way to find a spot, and during the day it was in direct sun; although umbrellas were provided, there was little protection from rain, and the security was a concern because the swipe door needed for your room could be easily bypassed by authorized guests, and the staff entry lacked a swipe. The elevators also gave access to that floor without a swipe. Overall, it’s a great hotel, an older one in the Makati area; if you’re there, it’s a good spot, but the newer Shangri‑La Edsa is my choice if you’re not based on the area.
