The owner was a lovely gentleman. and a very good host. There was no kettle in the room for tea. no bin for rubbish. Bathroom was very small. sink was tiny. no glass in bathroom for cleaning teeth. no tv. no mirror for doing makeup. bed was lovely but made noise when you moved. I wouldn't rate this property as a 5 star more like a 2-3 star

Das Collon House wirkt wie ein liebevoll bewahrtes Museum aus dem 17. Jahrhundert; die beeindruckenden Antiquitäten versetzen den Gast sofort in eine andere Epoche. Besonders schön war das Frühstück im historischen Esssalon, das mit viel Sorgfalt zubereitet und sehr stilvoll serviert wurde, und der Kaffee war ausgezeichnet. Da wir in dieser Nacht die einzigen Gäste waren, wirkte das Haus stellenweise etwas verschlossen und wenig einladend; mehrere Fensterläden blieben verschlossen, sodass wir quasi nur in unseren Zimmern bleiben konnten. Insgesamt fühlte man sich eher wie in einem etwas eingestaubten Antiquitätenhaus als in einer komfortablen, freundlichen Unterkunft. Die Bäder waren sehr klein und glichen eher einer Nasszelle, und die Matratzen waren für unseren Geschmack zu weich. Wir hatten uns sehr auf das Collon House gefreut, uns letztlich jedoch leider nicht rundum wohl gefühlt. Schade.

The breakfast was amazing, served at one big table with all the guests, and Michael was so lovely; the house itself was gorgeous. A notice warned that Wi‑Fi could be difficult because the walls are one metre thick, but we didn’t use the Wi‑Fi anyway. Everything was perfect.

Stunning gardens on the property. The owner, Michael was very welcoming and hospitable. He made a pot of tea and bits of cake for us on arrival and we sat in the garden to have it. The room was lovely-the sheets were very high level, bed was comfy. We traveled with our small dog and she was welcomed! The breakfast in the morning was lovely with cereal, granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, eggs cooked to order and coffee/ tea! We had a wonderful experience at the Collon House!. Literally nothing we didn’t like
