We were stranded overnight because the ferry was canceled by bad weather, so we stayed at this old mansion-turned-hotel, which felt charming, cozy, and romantic; a local owner gave us a tour, shared tips on places to visit, and told us about mastica, making it a truly magical island experience.

Pantelis was a very attentive host who provided a lot of information about the hotel and helped us with everything. The staff were friendly, and breakfast was adequate. I especially loved the homemade mandarin marmalade. Spending time in the hotel’s garden was a lot of fun, and it’s a good choice not only in summer but in other seasons as well. The hotel room was a comfortable size, clean, and everything was appreciated.

The historic compound in Kampos was a great spot to relax and explore eastern Chios, surrounded by Genoan colonial stone buildings and citrus orchards. I enjoyed walking the neighborhood early in the morning. The property was well restored and maintained, with a lovely courtyard among the orange grove for breakfast and evenings. One bedroom suite was spacious and well appointed with high beam ceilings. The owner gave useful information about the area. The main road is close, but the narrow, tricky roads into Kampos are difficult to navigate at night. There are no nearby restaurants, so a car or taxi is needed. The airport approach is close enough to be entertaining, but fortunately there are few flights and none during sleeping hours.

We were lucky to catch a traditional wedding. We had a great time. The rooms were authentic and clean. The staff were very attentive.

We stayed with my family at this nice historical place and the suite was clean and pleasant. The owner was friendly and we enjoyed a good breakfast. Nothing else to note.
