Intimate establishment, in a residential area near the beach RAS 👍. Rooms must be released at 10:00, which is far too early, especially since breakfast opens at 8:00 👎.

Breakfast was amazing, with a wide variety and even more. The staff were incredibly kind, and the pool, parking, beach towels, loungers, and umbrellas were all provided. There was a discount with a partner restaurant, so overall, what else could I ask for? No issues to report.

I stayed at the Porta Rosa with my husband for 5 nights (I booked for 4 and then decided to extend). The hotel was extremely clean, the breakfast was both sweet and savory and very varied, on request they served plant‑based milk in different flavors and there were several light options, including fresh fruit. We chose half board and in the evenings we dined at the hotel restaurant located about 350 m from the hotel; the dinner included a fixed starter, a first course and a main course with a side chosen from three options (seafood menu, meat menu, vegetarian menu), fruit or dessert; the food was very fresh and well prepared, perhaps for a sensitive stomach the first courses were too seasoned/heavy and the meat mains for 3 nights were red meat, but taking the seafood menu was truly the freshest, varied and good; moreover, they had an extreme attention to allergies and intolerances, which should be the norm everywhere, but in the south it is unfortunately a rarity. The staff was very courteous and helpful, only at breakfast they were sometimes absent. The room (no balcony) was tiny but arranged in an extremely clever way, nothing was missing: fridge, wardrobe with safe, nightstands, small desk, small TV, ropes for hanging swimsuits and wet towels, huge shower box, bathroom with wide storage shelves and hooks, impossible to find a flaw. The price also included the hotel beach 350 m away, with umbrella and two sunbeds; the beach is very long and beautiful, the sea we found very rough and I cannot fully express it, but in compensation the hotel had a pool, with a jacuzzi and sunbeds under the shade of trees, sunbeds in the sun, a small bar, showers and tables for a light lunch, truly a small paradise corner. Two small notes of disappointment: the bed was too soft for those with back pain and breakfast had few whole‑grain alternatives. Clearly for those looking beyond the sea, the pool and relaxation, a minimum of nightlife, one must drive. In September the center of Marina di Ascea on Saturday night was deserted, a bit better Marina di Casalvelino, otherwise one has to reach Acciaroli, all still within feasible distances.
