“The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful at Quinta Las Vela”

The grounds were beautifully landscaped and the pool was fantastic, with endless green grass, flowering bushes, and a variety of butterflies that made my outdoor experience peaceful and restful—exactly why I chose this hotel. The room itself was adequate, but the photos on Booking and the hotel website made it look luxurious. The bed was hard, the shower water pressure was low, and it took more than 5 minutes to get hot water. Lucy brought me a pitcher of drinking water, which is not usually provided to guests in rooms 1 and 2—thank you, Lucy, for taking care of me! There was no coffee maker, which I would expect as a standard in any hotel, especially since the nearest cafe is a 10 to 15 minute walk away.

The only thing that mattered was the location. The room was old, overly rustic with little maintenance, the front door didn’t close easily, the shower was old, rooms weren’t sound‑proofed, and the whole night there was loud music at a fairly high volume; the mattress was extremely uncomfortable.

The place was very spacious, and the staff were very kind in helping us find tours. The pool was excellent, though the best time to use it is when it’s sunny so it stays warm thanks to the solar heater, and it’s very quiet. The room was very clean and equally spacious. Since it’s a garden, you can find some bugs while walking, which might be a concern for people with particular fears, but there’s no need to worry about finding anything in the room.
