Being near the event I was attending, the staff was friendly and waited for me after my late return; the rooms matched the photos. The place only works well if you own a car, otherwise you’ll need to book taxis to get around town.

There weren’t many people, and they swapped me into a different room because the first one smelled awful; the staff were nice. The location is not what they advertised – it’s on the outskirts of Tepoztlán – and the rooms were dirty, with signs that other pets had been there, grimy floors, and kibble stuck to the floor. The toilet seat was missing and the toilet clogged.

The front‑desk staff were outstanding, especially René, who stayed friendly and helpful from the first phone call right through to checkout, always ready to answer my questions. When I asked about an early check‑in, he was eager and accommodating, which put me at ease, and he kept addressing any concerns I raised with courtesy. My room was very comfortable, spotless and fit the purpose of my trip, though the courtyard could use a visual upgrade and the shower leaked enough to flood the bathroom, something that should be fixed; neither issue stopped me from getting a good night’s rest.
