Motel 6 Effingham, IL

My dog was allowed to roam freely, and there was plenty of space for her to explore.

“Pleasant and relaxing”

The room was comfortable and the location was convenient. Nothing else to add.

“Plumbing didn't work”

I sent several emails, but the responses were the same as the ones I had already received.

“Awful.”

A roach was found in one of the rooms, the AC in that same room was broken, several lights were out, and the toilet in that room barely flushed. Check‑in was handled by a TV/robot system.

“Need better customer service and no foul language”

The place was very clean and located well. No one returned my phone call; I asked where the toilet flush was, and I eventually discovered it by moving the paper that was hiding it. I left a note suggesting the button should not be covered. The staff neither returned my call nor attempted to calm my frustration; they even used vile profanity toward me, which is unacceptable. I was angry but did not use such language. They should have tried to deescalate rather than argue. A quick return call would have resolved everything, yet I found no record of a phone reply.
