There were too many cats and the smell was awful—couldn’t stay there.

The hosts were very welcoming and made us feel at home; we paid a small extra for dinner on site, and the tonkatsu meal was absolutely delicious. We felt we were booking a private room, but it turned out to be a room in the guesthouse, which wasn’t a problem for us, though it might not suit everyone.
