Located in Newcastle's city centre, the Royal Station Hotel, part of the Cairn Collection, offers a classic, elevated design with a contemporary touch. This grade I listed building features free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and a swimming pool, sauna, and fitness centre. The iconic quayside, theatres, art galleries, restaurants, and bars are within a short walking distance, with Newcastle's central train and metro station just a minute away.

The room was spacious and very clean, and there were plenty of facilities for the price. The building feels old but still beautiful, and I was delighted to have a fridge right next to the station. The stair carpet was a bit worn, and there were a couple of chips on the bath.

The staff were friendly, but the bar and restaurant were very dark.

Great location, the staff were lovely and both the restaurant and the separate cocktail bar were fab, and reasonably priced. My room was small but comfortable and had tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was really good with a wide selection. The rooms and the building in general are looking a little tired with chipped paint and a bit of staining on the walls. Considering the price is on par with other hotels in the area I was expecting the rooms in particular to look a bit fresher
