“Decent room but for the price point, you can do a lot better. I expected nicer.”
The Modena mixes luxury condo and hotel vibes and looks great with a pool, swimming pool, and gym nearby. The Bistro Restaurant serves a good breakfast with salads, fruit, coffee, eggs, rice porridge, and simple Thai dishes like Krapao. The bed was comfortable but a bit soft; the air‑con was strong, so I set it to 22°C then had to raise it to 25°C because it was too cold. There were plenty of outlets by the bed and elsewhere, and I liked the built‑in wall desk lamp. The check‑in desk is oddly placed outside at the end, and I was swarmed by insects while checking in, which was uncomfortable—why not enclose it? Parking is limited; if the 7 or 8 spots by check‑in are full, you must park below, which was inconvenient in the heavy rain. The room was mediocre, small, and awkward, with a sofa against the window, a small coffee table, but no desk or chair for work, and not enough space for such. For the price in Buriram I’d expect a larger room. The shower had a standard detachable handheld head but no overhead head; the toilet and sink were standard. After breakfast I asked about the wine tasting that evening; they told me it was sold out, which annoyed me a lot. I asked the manager for an exception, but he said no. I would have bought bottles. Overall, you’re paying a lot for the location next to the stadium; it’s busy during football matches but otherwise I see no reason to pay a higher price for this spot.
