The hosts were lovely and helpful, which made meeting them a real pleasure. The room is spacious, the bed is huge and comfortable, and everything is spotlessly clean. It’s a bit out of the way, but the tram gets you into the city centre in just 20 minutes.

The place was clean, and getting to the centre and the airport was easy. However, the room was in a private flat located in the slums of Edinburgh, which felt creepy. While the room itself was tidy, the surrounding area was unsettling, and the cooking smell in the apartment was very unpleasant.

The place was tucked away and housed long‑term guests, which left a strong curry smell throughout, and the shared restroom felt rather inconvenient; the room itself should at least have a television.
This is the best value for money in Edinburgh—clean, comfy, and free parking, plus a friendly host. The only downside is that you have to carry your large luggage up the stairs, but otherwise everything is great.
