Check‑in went smoothly, thanks to the staff. Our room was cramped and worn, with a stained carpet and no drawers for clothes. The breakfast lacked fried eggs and mushrooms, but I could have requested them; the pizza and steak ciabatta the day before were delicious, and the team was friendly. We were heading to The Alex Theatre, so it worked out overall.

The staff were lovely, but the bathroom and carpet looked dingy. The room carried a strong smoker’s odor, as if it had been used by smokers for years.

The location was great, but my room was about 35 °C and I couldn’t sleep on my girlfriend’s birthday. They put a fan in the room because they knew it would be hot, yet I don’t understand why they didn’t offer a different room.

The room was quiet and comfortable and everything worked. The restaurant wasn't available for an evening meal; there was an offer of room service but I decided to go out instead, not sure if that's a like/not like thing
