“Spacious and cosy, but poor communication and awkward airport access”
The room and bathroom were spacious, and a large table with two chairs made it easy to work or relax. The décor gave the place a cosy, slightly quirky feel, and I liked hearing aircraft pass overhead. Outside food from Swiggy was allowed, and the simple breakfast I requested—boiled eggs and black coffee without sugar—was prepared quickly and was inexpensive. I booked this place specifically to watch aircraft, but only after I arrived was I told the owners had been forced to stop rooftop plane spotting after repeated complaints from airport security agencies. I completely understand why they had to stop it; what I don’t understand is why nobody called, texted or messaged me beforehand when they knew this was the reason for my stay. The location also doesn’t work particularly well as an airport hotel. Although it’s geographically close to the airport, reaching any terminal requires a long drive around the airport perimeter—at least 20 minutes, and more in traffic. Noise insulation was poor enough that loud guests woke me around 5 AM, and I couldn’t get back to sleep. The remotely controlled ceiling fans and lights were also unnecessarily fiddly, especially because power cuts caused them to reset in inconvenient ways. There were also some small but irritating billing issues. I was handed a bottle of water at check‑in without being told it was chargeable, and only found out at checkout. I was also charged ₹70 for a bottled coconut water with an MRP of ₹60.
