“Quite a find for the non-fussy solo traveler who wants the best location”
This place is a converted apartment split into eight guest rooms, with many similar rooms spread across its 15 floors, interspersed with regular apartments and lower‑floor businesses. If you’re an experienced solo traveler who isn’t picky, you’ll love it, as I did. The host, a woman who doesn’t speak English, was always nearby but not overbearing, giving the place a secure feel. Each room comes with a bed, an air conditioner, and a small wet bathroom (at least mine did). That’s it, but when you’re touring a city like Hong Kong, that’s all you really need. The location is unbeatable for a first‑time visitor: the metro is right outside the door, taking you across to Hong Kong Island in one stop and to most of Kowloon’s tourist spots in the other direction; a five‑minute walk to the ferry terminal; next to the hip K11 mall; next to a nightlife area; and a five‑minute walk to Kowloon Park. It’s incredible how good the location is. A laundry machine is available and works as a wash/dry in one unit. On the downside, being on the 12th floor means the elevator can be slow during busy business hours, with a line on the first floor to go up. The building’s ceilings are low, so a stair climb is relatively painless if you’re fit. The mattress is hard. It was hard to find the place the first time you arrive (hint: it’s in a corner not far from the main elevator). There’s no fridge in the room, but a hallway fridge is shared (I used it a few times). I couldn’t see myself staying here as anything but a solo guest, but that’s up to you.
