“Excellent location in Chinatown, but difficult luggage access and a lack of privacy in the female do”
The best thing about this hotel is its prime spot in the heart of Chinatown, just a short walk from the MRT station, with plenty of restaurants, food stalls, and 24‑hour convenience stores nearby for easy exploration. My biggest gripe was that the hotel sits on the second floor with no elevator or alternative entrance; I was traveling alone with a large suitcase and a carry‑on, and having to haul both up the steep staircase was extremely hard. Guests should be warned about this before booking, especially those with heavy luggage. Another major inconvenience was the lack of privacy when accessing the bathrooms. I had booked a female‑only dorm on the same floor as reception, but the only two bathrooms and showers were on the opposite side of the reception area. Every time I needed to shower, I had to walk through reception in my pajamas, carrying my clothes and toiletries, often passing through crowds of people gathered there. This was especially uncomfortable and inconvenient, given that I had deliberately chosen a female‑only room for more privacy.
