The owner was extremely flexible with check‑in and check‑out times, something I never experienced elsewhere in Italy; I loved the pool, bed, and shower, and Sonia’s brother‑in‑law was a big plus—an unforgettable nice guy. Nothing else, except the weather, but what can you do?

We loved staying at Abbentu, a real haven of peace near Syracuse. The two sisters running the place are adorable and all staff are welcoming. The rooms are spacious and clean, the pool is a major bonus, and the hearty, tasty breakfast made all the difference. We recommend this hotel with our eyes closed.

We had a wonderful time, feeling right at home thanks to the sisters’ friendliness and warmth. Every morning we enjoyed a tasty breakfast with homemade pies, focaccia, etc.; we could use the washing machine, which was great since we were on a six‑week road trip. We rented an eco scooter to explore the area, and even on Ortigia we were allowed into the ZLM zone—thanks for this lovely stay!
