Island Life Hostel sits just 200 m from Alcázar de Colón square and 350 m from the Casas Reales Museum in Santo Domingo. Guests enjoy a swimming pool, hot‑tub, garden, barbecue area, free Wi‑Fi, shared lounge, games room and on‑site tour desk. Dorms include linen, fan, reading light and lockers; ensuite rooms feature private bathrooms, showers and air‑conditioning.

The owner, Chris, was fantastic and nearly always around to chat, share tips, and spread good vibes! Claudia, the events planner, was also incredible. The pool turned out to be much larger than it looked, and a group of us hung out there. The hostel sits in an amazing location, and if you enjoy salsa, bachata, or merengue, there are great dance spots like El Museo del Ron and Parada 77 just a 5‑minute walk away. Everything was great!

The location is good. It should have air conditioning; I only had a fan.

The spot is perfect, and the staff are very friendly. The accommodation wasn’t very clean, and there was no Wi‑Fi available in the room.

The hostel sits in a beautifully restored colonial building, and the room was really nice with a bathroom, A/C, and free breakfast. The bar downstairs offers a pool, darts, an arcade machine, and a poker room. The staff—Chris, Ana, and Nicky—are genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the hostel and the local area host daily events.
