“A decent and affordable central place to stay in Nevers and great base”

The hotel sits just a short walk from the train station and is within easy reach of the Ducal Palace, Cathedral, and St Gildard Convent where St Bernadette is. The rooms were nicely decorated and the bathrooms were good, with decent showers and free toiletries. However, there was no air conditioning; a fan was supplied but it was a bit less comfortable when it was warm. Breakfast was limited to small pastries, and although there was a decent selection of other items, it didn't suit my taste.

The room was large and the bike storage was secure, even though it was a short walk from the hotel. Wi‑Fi didn’t work well in the room but was better in the lobby. I stayed at Best Western, which advertises breakfast from 6:30, but on arrival it started at 7. I would have missed my train, but the receptionist kindly arranged a breakfast tray for me at 6:45.

“Bel hôtel qui a du cachet”

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, offers a bike storage, has a charming reception, and a nice decor. The room is quiet except for the creaking floor under the carpet, it has a kettle, and the breakfast is excellent either in the cellar (old enclosure wall) or on a terrace.

The decor is good. There is no air conditioning.

There is no air conditioning in the room, so I had to leave the window open, but the street noise was loud.
