The old‑fashioned hospitality was wonderful; we felt truly welcomed and well cared for. The grounds were a gorgeous, rambling expanse of wildness, and we adored the faded grandeur. Everything was loved.

The room was large and tidy, and the meal was generous and delicious. However, the place was marketed as a grand property where you could walk the grounds and see the horses, which was not the case—the property was overgrown and neglected. It was a shame, and the stay felt rushed with the client not being a priority.

It was great to return to Hawley House after 33 years. Sophie is a genuine and interesting host who is doing an amazing job. The dinner was fabulous, the value was very good, and the room was beautiful with lovely views of the water.
