“A gem of a hotel, unusual to find nowadays”

I found this old‑style hotel to be a gem, run with a caring, traditional touch and excellent service. The staff were friendly, the rooms were large and comfortable, and the evening meals were great, especially considering I’m coeliac. I’m looking forward to a return visit—probably next year. My only note is that, since I’m not a shower‑friendly person, I’d have preferred a flexible shower head instead of one that comes from the ceiling; it’s a minor detail. Everything else was superb.

“Very pleasant stay”

Parking was excellent and the location convenient. The staff were friendly, but the staircase was a bit awkward when carrying luggage.

The reception and breakfast staff were friendly. However, room 27 was terrible—tiny like a prison cell, looking like a 1970s relic. The shower was disgusting: a small box that wouldn’t close, with no space to put shower gel, forcing me to hold the gel and use a sponge in that cramped shower that filled with water. The door wouldn’t shut. This place really needs a makeover; it’s a very old, dated hotel, but the staff are lovely and try to make you feel welcome.

“A wonderful and friendly place to stay”

The hotel was lovely and all the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, even offering to pack breakfast for me to take to a meeting. I’d happily stay again. Everything was great.

“Great location”

Friendly staff. Clean. Great location for Bicester outlet village. Lovely bar with live music. Nothing although a fridge in the room would have been nice
