“Pleasant and cosy”

The spot is right on the main walking route, so exploring the town was a breeze. The hosts were warm and the facilities were solid, especially the waterfall shower that I really enjoyed. Even though the room faced the road, it stayed quiet enough. Breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh, locally sourced dishes. The house is old, so there were a few noises—squeaks from the bed and the toilet flushing—making me a little self‑aware, but I don’t think it bothered anyone else.

Breakfast was satisfying in a relaxed, well‑organized room, and I liked the DIY egg boiler. However, the stairs require extra caution; a handrail would be helpful.

“Nice short stay”

The property is lovely with a beautiful garden, and the room is a nice size, but it lacks wardrobe or hanging facilities. It would have been better if the bathroom were en‑suite, though I understand the house layout doesn’t allow it.

I had a lovely stay in a comfortable room that overlooked the front garden and had a private bathroom. The continental self‑service breakfast was fresh and enjoyable, especially the homemade yoghurt. Lizzie and Paul were wonderful and made us feel very welcome in their home. A kettle with tea/coffee facilities in the room would have been nice, and it would help to have room numbers on the doors.

The location is quiet and restful. The host was friendly and helpful, and the historical old house was beautiful. The room and bathroom were nice.
